Despite earlier reports that the upcoming Ninja Turtles movie would be shot in Vancouver, a new report suggests the movie will actually be filmed in New York City.
Production Weekly is reporting “Principle photography on TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, is scheduled to begin this April in New York.”
In addition to the Production Weekly scoop, we’ve learned they’ve been working on screen tests in an L.A. studio this week, which would make sense if they are planning an April start.
The movie got off to a rough start last spring when it was announced the Turtles would be aliens in the new movie, causing fan protests, and more recently the release date was pushed back from December 2013 to May 16, 2014.
Hopefully, this week’s news means the movie is back on track.
