Untitled Elmore Leonard Project, starring Jennifer Aniston, filming in Greenwich, CT next month

After a recent slow down in productions, it looks like filming in Connecticut might be heating up again.

According to the Patch, the Greenwich, CT Board of Selectmen OK’d a film shoot for the Untitled Elmore Leonard Project at the Two Door Restaurant on Hamilton Avenue in Greenwich.

The movie, starring Jennifer Aniston, Isla Fisher, John Hawkes, Tim Robbins, Mos Def, and Will Forte, is set in 1970s Detroit and is based on the Elmore Leonard novel The Switch (which also happens to be the name of one of Aniston’s other films).

According to IMDb, the plot follows, “Ordell Robbie and Louis Gara who hit it off in prison, where they were both doing time for grand theft auto. Now that they’re out, they’re joining forces for one big score.”

The scenes filmed at Two Door will take place on Feb. 11 and include a bar fight that spills out onto the street where a character will be hit by a 1970s era car.

The 25 day shoot is tentatively expected to begin on Feb. 4 in the Greenwich and Stamford area.

Other locations that will be used to recreate Detroit, and a Bahamas vacation home, include a modern design home on Round Hill Road, Greenwich, the Fairview Country Club on King Street in Greenwich, “a few gritty neighborhoods in Stamford for five day”, and a home in the waterfront neighborhood of Shippan.
