The Michael J. Fox Project begins filming in NYC this week

Michael J. Fox’s new family comedy for NBC begins filming in NYC this week.

The untitled single-camera comedy created by Sam Laybourne (Cougar Town) and Will Gluck already has a 22-episode series order for the fall.

The show is loosely based on Fox’s real life with him playing Mike Burnaby, a husband and father of three in New York City dealing with family, career, and challenges, like Parkinson’s Disease. Breaking Bad’s Betsy Brandt has signed on to play his wife and Katie Finneran will play his sister in the series.

On Wednesday, The Michael J Fox Project is filming on Reade St between Broadway and Church and at Worth and Centre St in NYC.

The No Parking signs read MJF Project, so be on the look out for those around town too and be sure to let us know if you spot them!
