Jim Carrey’s next movie, Loomis Fargo, is set to begin filming in North Carolina this spring.
Loomis Fargo is based on the true story of one of the biggest heists in U.S. history.
In 1997 bank employee David Ghantt developed a relationship with co-worker Kelly Campbell and they, along with two others, robbed 17 million dollars from Loomis Fargo in Charlotte, North Carolina. And, instead of laying low, one of them moved from a trailer into a mansion while another spent thousands on cars and jewelry. Ghantt fled to Mexico with $50,000 and lived there through 1998.
The movie is based on the 2002 book, Heist!: The $17 Million Loomis Fargo Theft.
