The eighth, and possibly the last, season of Dexter has started filming in the Los Angeles area.
Usually the cast and crew of Dexter begins filming in May, but because their premiere date has been moved up to June 30, their production start date has been moved up, too.
And, though a final decision has not been made, season eight might be Dexter’s last. “We are absolutely writing it with an end in sight, but if we get told otherwise somewhere along the way, we’ll take it in a different direction. But we are definitely working toward the finale of the series,” Executive Producer Scott Buck said.
In other Dexter news, Charlotte Rampling (The Duchess) and Sean Patrick Flanery (Boondock Saints) have signed on for recurring roles in the eight season.
Today, Dexter is filming at Sunset Gower Studios in Los Angeles.
I REALLY hope that season 8 is not your last. I look forward to them every year and order showtime just for Dexter and cancel showtime when Dexter is over. Please don’t end it this year, I know Dexter has many more years left.

I really hope season 8 IS the last. I am a devoted fan of the series, but it’s gone on long enough and the quality is starting to wane a bit. Let’s go out on a high note!
I hope that Michael C. Hall starts a new series after Dexter season 8 because this was one of the best shows that I have ever seen.
