‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 begins production in Georgia on May 6!

Today, AMC officially announced The Walking Dead will commence filming on season 4 in Georgia on May 6.

The season 3 finale, entitled Welcome to the Tombs, is set to air on March 31 and will be the last with departing showrunner Glen Mazzara.

For season 4, Scott M. Gimple will take over the reins, while co-executive producer/special effects makeup artist Greg Nicotero and producer Tom Luse have been moved up to executive producers.

Even though there there has been quite a few personnel changes on the show, we’ve heard the filming locations for season 4 will pretty much stay the same, so expect a return to Senoia, GA, aka Woodbury.

  1. Extras get paid sometimes $175/day and did you know in Atlanta/Georgia there is an app for that? Walking Dead cast/extras/crew help wanted, filming locations, everything a hopeful zombie or zombie fan could want. AtlantaFilmCrew.Com ~ It is beyond our control, we cant control who our app users are and if the vampires and zombies get out of control, someone please tell me how I am supposed to stop them!?!?!

  2. Me and my friend are wanting to apply for being extras in season 4. We have all the information to do so, and we know that they begin filming May 6th, but does anyone have an idea of when filming would be over? I am asking because me and my friend are both high school students (I’m about to be a senior, and he’s about to graduate) and he has applied for a summer internship and doesn’t want this to interfere with it. Does anyone know? Any information/advice would be appreciated. Thanks!:)

  3. I understand why people would think that working on a televison series or movie set would be a lot of fun. The truth is that it can be long and boring. Extreme temps of both hot and cold weather in makeup for 12 to 16 hours each day. And don’t even think about speaking to the talent ( paid actors) That would get you thrown off the set in a heartbeat. They do feed you well. All the food and drinks you want. But if you think for a minute that you will be free to hob knob with the rich and famous, just forget it. The director will have your ass escorted off the set. No one is allowed to even as much as fart without the directors permission.

  4. How can you met the cast that are filming there? Do they not have a day or place that they met fans? I would love to drive there and met them and watch them film, but I am sure you won’t be allow near the filming location.

    • they don’t have a specific day they meet with people. If they are filming on location and you go and watch they will usually come over and say hi but no guarantees.

        • it depends on where and what they are filming they leave a lot of the woodbury props up all time or at least they did last season so you might be able to see something even if they aren’t filming
