George Clooney is making summer vacation especially interesting for some vacationers in the U.K. as he’s turned the Pontins Resort in Rye, England into a movie set.
Clooney is directing and starring in The Monuments Men, based on the book The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History by Robert M. Edsel about a crew of art historians who recover irreplaceable works of art stolen by the Nazis during WWII, and chose the resort for several beach scenes.
George and his co-stars Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Hugh Bonneville and Jean Dujardin were spotted filming scenes for the film, in full military fatigues, on the resort’s shores this week.
The movie’s cast and crew are staying in 85 rooms at the Pontins Resort, where filming will continue through the end of the month.
