As we’ve reported, Columbia Pictures has leased the former Lowe’s building off of Route 97 in Haverhill, MA for The Equalizer, an adaptation of the 1980s television series.
Filming began at the location on Monday, June 17 and will continue over 4 weeks between now and August.
The movie’s plot centers on Robert McCall (Denzel Washington), “a retired intelligence officer, who turns into a vigilante for the helpless. When he decides to help a young hooker (Chloe Moretz), he gets heat from the Russian mafia, and in particular a brutal fixer played by Marton Csokas who has signed on to the play the movie’s villain.”
