The University of British Columbia transformed into the New York World’s Fair for ‘Tomorrowland’, starring George Clooney

If you find yourself on the campus of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver this week you might think you’ve stepped back in time, but you’ve actually only stepped onto the set of George Clooney’s next big hit.

Director Brad Bird and his crew have the Main Mall on UBC’s campus into the 1964 New York World’s Fair for Tomorrowland.

Though plot details are sketchy, the gist is that it follows “a teenage girl, a genius middle-aged man (who was kicked out of Tomorrowland), and a pre-pubescent girl robot as they attempt to get to and unravel what happened to Tomorrowland, which exists in an alternative dimension, in order to save Earth.”

Today, crews also added giant greenscreens for the fair’s Unisphere which will be added in post-production.
