It has been a big year for England (Summer Olympics or Royal Baby, anyone?) and it’s about to get even bigger with the The Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiere set for London, England.
The highly anticipated red carpet event will be on November 11, 2o13, taking place 11 days before it opens in the United States on November 22.
Lionsgate has not announced a venue yet.
Some expect more fans at this premiere than for the first installment because their leading lady Katniss a.k.a Jennifer Lawrence, won an Oscar earlier in the year. Other cast members that are rumored to appear are Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
If you have not read The Hunger Games books, I recommend reading them (now…seriously…). Fandango says, Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
Details about the premiere will be released in the future, but in the meantime, here’s the trailer for the film to hold you over until Nov. 22!
