The Academy wants to give The Oscars’ biggest fans a pair of red carpet tickets

This year the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences won’t be holding a lottery for red carpet tickets to the Oscars, instead they are using social media to find Oscars’ biggest fans.

December 2nd, 2013 will mark the beginning of Academy Fan Appreciation Week. For one week only the Academy will seek out to their biggest fans on social media and offer them a pair of tickets to the 2014 Oscars Fan Experience, including a seat along the red carpet on Oscar day.

They are specifically looking for people who actively engage with them by commenting, liking, and sharing their posts.

The 2014 Academy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on March 2, 2014.

  1. My family and I are vacationing to the area from New Brunswick, Canada the first week of March and were ecstatic to find out the Oscars were being held March 2. This is our first time to the area and would love to be able to take part and see the stars on the red carpet. This would be a trip in a life time that we would never forget.
