FX’s 1/2 hour comedy How and Why started filming in Wilmington, NC today.

The TV pilot stars John Hawkes as a man who can explain how and why a nuclear reactor works but is clueless about life. “After losing his gig hosting children’s science show How And Why, he tries to start over with a new show in a little TV market in the middle of nowhere when he encounters the supernatural world.”

Michael Cera, Sally Hawkins and Catherine Keener also star.

Below is a look at where the series will be filming in Wilmington in the coming days:

April 30: Roland Grise Middle School, 4412 Lake Ave and 6th St. bridge (6th St. between Brunswick and Campbell)

May 1: 5051 New Centre Dr

May 2: Princess St, the Courtyard by Marriott at 229 N. 2nd St, and 2306 N. 23rd St.
