Back in July we reported that Disney was building a set for The Finest Hours in Quincy, MA and this week they’ve finally started filming on the site.
A warehouse in the Quincy Shipyard has been converted into a studio including a large indoor water tank. Most of the movie will be filmed at the location with a few weeks also spent shooting in Chatham, MA and other South Shore locales.
Filming signs have been spotted on Hancock St in Quincy, leading to the bay.
Chris Pine will portray Coast Guard hero Bernie Webber in the movie, who came to the rescue after a furious 1952 storm split two oil tankers in half.
