After months of speculation about Marvel’s upcoming Netflix series AKA Jessica Jones, the show will finally begin filming this week in New York City.
AKA Jessica Jones will focus on the Marvel character who, “after a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.”
Krysten Ritter has signed on to star as the title character, along with David Tennant as Kilgrave, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Rachael Taylor as Patricia “Trish” Walker. It was also just announced Carrie-Anne Moss has joined the cast as “a no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica…if Jessica doesn’t completely alienate her first.”
Thanks to one of our Twitter followers, @lanalooskii, we’ve learned AKA Jessica Jones is filming at Lehman College in the Bronx through Friday. The movie is filming under the working title Violet and will continue shooting for the next few weeks.

Hi. Episodical series like this one take months to film, so expect stuff like this for a while longer if the location they have chosen is the main one. I know they may be moving over to other ones, and even to NOLA later or in between.
