Filming is officially underway on Deadpool, the X-Men spinoff starring Ryan Reynolds. The movie will be directed by Tim Miller who promises to stick to the comic book incarnation of the character, which is good news for fans who were disappointed by the Deadpool’s portrayal in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Reynolds recently told EW how excited he was to start filming the movie, saying, “I do feel like I flipped a coin in the exact right fountain at some point, but I’m excited. It’s been an incredible year.”

Deadpool is scheduled to shoot at North Shore Studios in Vancouver through May 23, with some on location filming taking place around the city, including a shoot that will close the Georgia viaduct for two weeks. According to local news outlets, crews will be there weekdays, from 5 a.m. until 3 p.m., April 6 to 16.

Be on the lookout for Deadpool, which is using the working title Wham, filming in Vancouver and be sure to let us know if you spot them!
