’11/22/63′ is recreating Kennedy’s assassination in Dallas today

Today, history is being brought to life as James Franco and the crew of the TV mini-series 11/22/63 are recreating John Kennedy’s assignation in Dallas’ famous Dealey Plaza.

In the movie, based on the Stephen King novel, James Franco plays a man who time-travels back to 1963 Dallas to save President Kennedy. The nine-part series, produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot, will air on Hulu sometime next year.

Right now, crews are staging Kennedy’s Motorcade and the president’s drive down Elm Street (with a twist of course, after all the movie is based on a Stephen King novel). In preparation of today’s filming, the city sent out a warning to residents that they should be advised there will be “live blank gunfire” heard throughout the day.

These are the last scenes for the movie, most of 11/22/63 was already filmed in and around Toronto.
