With a confirmed sixth season of American Horror Story on its way this fall, fans are already speculating what the new season’s setting might be, and many are looking to the sky.
The most popular theory seems to revolve around an outer space or Area 51 theme based on the extraterrestrial presence in Asylum. Online publications from Reddit Forums to blogs to pop culture experts all seem to think a season of aliens is inevitable.
And, the theories also seem to point to the American Southwest as the setting, whether it be for filling in as a far away planet or being used in an Area 52 scenario, it does seem like a good fit for the series.
So, this got us thinking, if the popular belief is that AHS Season 6 will have a southwest setting, at the same time that New Mexico plans to improve their film tax incentives, it seems like there is a possibility that the next season of American Horror Story will shoot in New Mexico.
On Monday, New Mexico Legislature hosted “film day,” where a new 25 percent [film] tax credit was proposed by Sen. Lisa Torraco. “The tax credit would equal 25 percent of the distribution costs to make a film, or a commercial audiovisual product, available for commercial release.”
Drew Dolan, the managing director of I-25 Studios in Albuquerque, NM, also said more TV project announcements are coming soon. “This is shaping up to be one of the best years for film the state has ever seen, and it’s all related to TV,” Dolan said.
So, what do you think? Could AHS be headed to New Mexico for an alien story line this fall? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
That seems to be a really good theory, for I am a believer of Ufo’s and Alien’s. People have been saying that season 6 will be Creepy pasta based season. They have been saying that Slenderman will be the main villan, the russian sleep experiment. etc. but what i’m saying is also a theory.
