This morning, Dwayne Johnson not only confirmed Priyanka Chopra is joining the cast of Baywatch as the movie’s main villian, but he also verified filming will begin next week!
Johnson is set to star in the big screen version of the 90s series, along with Zac Efron, Hannibal Buress, Alexandra Daddario, Ilfenesh Hadera, and Kelly Rohrbach, who will play C.J. Parker, the role made famous by Pamela Anderson in the TV version.
Baywatch will film in Savannah, GA from mid-March to mid-April and they are looking for locals to appear as extras in the movie. The next open casting call will take place on Feb. 27 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Savannah. Check out the details in the flyer below or on Facebook.
OMG. Baywatch and Tybee Island do not exist in the same continuum of common sense in ANY spectrum of the imagination. Tybee is the nastiest beach in the world! Filthy, muddy, stinky water as a result of run-off from the Savannah River, polluted tidal estuaries and raw sewerage from the City of Tybee waste treatment plant near Lazaretto Creek. Not to mention ever-present and extremely dangerous rip current from years of too near shore dredging for the Savannah River channel. This is NOT a resort town, although you would think so given the heavy push by only Savannahians toward that end. True, Hollywood can make ANY place look good, but – damn!
