Last night, fans who spent the day waiting outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City – some arriving as early as 11:00 AM – weren’t disappointed as they watched a who’s who of the fashion world and Hollywood arrive for the Met Gala.
The annual event, held on the first Monday of May, not only kicks off the Costume Institute’s spring 2016 Exhibition but it is also the primary fundraiser for the institute. Each year the theme of the gala goes along with the exhibit, giving stars and their stylists an excuse to dress over-the-top, not that they all need one.
The event’s red carpet, which stretches the length of The Met’s famous staircase, always leads to some interesting interactions with so many stars ascending at once.
