With Georgia being ranked number three in worldwide film production, it’s no surprise that Macon has seen plenty of lights, cameras and action over the past few years.
The city has already hosted the filming of 42, Trouble with the Curve, Need for Speed, and the TV series The Originals. Now, it can add I,Tonya to that list.
According to a local paper and a local casting call, film crews should be arriving soon to film scenes for the new movie about disgraced U.S. figure skater Tonya Harding.
Margot Robbie stars as Harding, while Sebastian Stan plays her ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, the man who planned the attack on figure skater Nancy Kerrigan. Allison Janney has also signed on to play Harding’s mother, LaVona Golden.
A recent casting call from Central Casting says the shoot will take place at the Macon Centreplex.
Central Casting is specifically looking for men and women over the age of 18 to portray spectators from Monday, January 30 to Thursday, February 2. Submit an email to tonya@centralcasting.com with your name, number, recent photo of yourself, location and preferred dates with MACON in the subject line if you are in the area and would like to a part of these scenes.
