‘Ghostbusters 2020’ filming locations this weekend

Filming for Ghostbusters 2020 is winding down in Canada but there are still plenty of opportunities to see the movie filming this weekend. The movie is filming at 24th Street and Highway 3 in Fort Macleod, Alberta through Sunday evening.

Laszlo Uhrik, Ghostbusters’ location manager, previously told CBC News that filmmakers were drawn to the classic look of the town, just south of Calgary.

“Specifically, the main street — that block of buildings that has been maintained the way that it looks now gives a look that is timeless, in a sense,” Uhrik said.

The new film stars Paul Rudd, Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, Dan Aykroyd, and Finn Wolfhard. It’s being directed by Jason Reitman, the son of the original movies’ director Ivan Reitman.

Reitman co-wrote the film which he describes as a “love letter to the original movie and that it will have an Amblin-style feel to it.” It’s also been reported that it will “focus on a family who moves back home to a small town. While there, they begin to ‘learn more about who they are and the secrets of the town itself.’”
