Confessions of a Shopaholic in Farifield, CT

We have the following information about the filming location for Confessions of a Shopaholic in Fairfield, CT as well as pictures from the set courtesy of one of our readers, Ed!

Here is what Ed had to say about the set:

“I was actually on the street last night (Monday). It was still open and crews had placed cones on Essex Street and Brookfield Avenue. Brookfield is a cul-de-sac and there were tractor-trailers (three) parked at the end. I took pictures of the house they must be using because it was the only house with equipment in front of it (the windows had also been covered).”

Here is more information about Fairfield filming locations.

Ed also gave us the following run down of the best restaurants and things to do in Fairfield, CT, we can’t wait to visit! (Thanks Ed!!)

“The Firehouse Deli is on Reef Road and very close to the train station and downtown area. The deli has been a fixture in Fairfield for many years. It’s adjacent to the town’s gazebo (so on a warm day you can take your sandwich and sit in the park). I also recommend Centro’s which is right on the Post Road and also w/in walking distance of the train station. The Chef’s Table in Fairfield is great because they usually have live music (local talent). There’s also Quattro Pazzi CafĂ©.

If you need coffee and don’t feel like Starbucks, I recommend the Las Vetas Lounge. Here’s what one reviewer wrote: The Best Coffee House in Connecticut: Las Vetas is the best thing to happen to downtown Fairfield in years. A true independently owned coffee ‘lounge’ with incredible character and a style all it’s own. I feel it has saved our little town from becoming “mall-afied” by chain stores and superficial expensive restaurants.

If you’re searching for libations I recommend the Horseshoe Cafe in Southport. It’s very, very close to the buildings used in this Leonardo DiCaprio film. You can’t walk to the Horseshoe from the Fairfield train station; however, you can from the Southport station which is one stop before Fairfield.

Finally, the beach area in Fairfield is great. You can grab a burger and fries at the pavilion at Jennings Beach or go to the Seagrape (popular with Fairfield University students — at least it used to be). It’s pretty decent hike to the beach from the Fairfield train station.

The Dogwood Festival is one of the BIG yearly events. It’s in Greenfield Hill (part of Fairfield) which is incredibly scenic. I know they filmed a Toyota ad in front of the church that’s a backdrop for the festival. Fairfield also has one of the areas largest Memorial Day parades. We also have great fireworks, which can be seen from the Jennings, Penfield and Southport beaches.”

Here is more information on getting to Fairfield by train from NYC. It is about an hour and half ride from Grand Central. Here is the town’s official website.

Finally, here are Ed’s set photos!
