Variety is reporting that Invictus will premiere in New York tonight (12.1, 6:30 p.m.) at the Paris Theater.  Following the premiere, there will be a tribute to Clint Eastwood at the Museum of the Moving Image, 583 Park Ave.

Invictus, which was directed by Eastwood in South Africa earlier this year, looks at the life of Nelson Mandela after the fall of apartheid in South Africa. During which time, Mandela campaigned to host the 1995 Rugby World Cup event hoping it would unite his countrymen. Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman star in the film.
