Filming News Wrap-Up: Megan Fox Filming in L.A., Jennifer Carpenter joins Nic Cage in NOLA, ‘A Couple Of Dicks’ becomes ‘Cop Out’ & more!

– Remember the debate over the Kevin Smith movie that was filming in NYC this summer? Was it A Couple of Dicks or A Couple of Cops? It turns out Smith didn’t go with either, the movie’s official title is now Cop Out.

– Dexter’s Jennifer Carpenter has joined Nicolas Cage and Mad Men’s January Jones in the upcoming indie thriller Hungry Rabbit Jumps, which will also feature Guy Pearce and Lost’s Harold Perrineau. The movie, which is being directed by Roger Donaldson, is currently filming in and around New Orleans. Up next for January Jones is the Unknown White Male with Barbara Walter’s new man, Frank Langella.

Randy Travis was spotted filming scenes for Jerusalem Countdown in Manistee, Michigan earlier this month.

– Beatdown, starring Eric Balfour (Can’t Hardly Wait, The O.C.), is filming in Austin, TX. Eric, who is in L.A. for a holiday break, shared his condolences with Brittany Murphy’s family yesterday.

– Though there were rumors about whether or not Passion Play, starring Megan Fox and Mickey Rouke, would ever get made, Jon Favreau confirmed the movie is filming in L.A. now on his Twitter page. The movie is also scheduled to film in New Mexico at some point.

– Robert Redford’s The Conspirator has wrapped in Savannah.

– Knight and Day has officially wrapped too. Check out the trailer:

-The Coen Brothers are taking their search for Mattie to Oklahoma.

– It looks like Captain America will be filmed out side of the U.S., at least in part. A props company in L.A. recently tweeted, “Marvel films is considering filming Captain America in the UK, WTF!” But Marvel has hinted at the movie being their most “international” film to date so it doesn’t come as a huge surprise that the film may be made in the U.K.

– Tom Murro aka “The Celebrity Magnet”, who we featured on our site a couple of weeks ago, has a new Facebook page for his celebrity sightings, you can check it out here.

– Here are a couple new apps that will come in handy for movie location stalkers. First, Visit Britain has launched a new app that gives you all of the Great British Film locations on your iPhone, including locations that were used in Sherlock Holmes. There’s also a new app for Android, appropriately named Location Scout, which assists movie-fans in discovering previous filming locations for thousands of movies via information compiled by the Internet Movie Database.

– Christopher Lloyd is filming a Wizard of Oz spin-off in Connecticut. The film is currently on a break but will resume filming in early January.
