According to Production Weekly, the prequel is set to begin filming in Toronto this March and is expected to run through June.
The movie will tell the story of the Norwegian camp that found the Thing before the Kurt Russell group did. The script was written by Battlestar Galactica executive producer Ronald Moore.
The movie is expected to hit theaters in 2011.
