‘Love Don’t Let Me Down’, ‘Thor’ & ‘Red’ Begin Production This Week

Here’s a look at a number of productions starting this week:

'The Blind Side' New York Premiere

Love Don’t Let Me Down, which will star Tim McGraw, Gwyneth Paltrow, Friday Night Lights’ Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester, begins production this week in Nashville. The $15 million film revolves around “a rising young singer-songwriter (Hedlund) who becomes involved with a fallen country singer (Paltrow). As they embark on a career resurrection tour with her husband and manager (McGraw) and a beauty queen-turned-singer (Meester), romantic entanglements and old demons threaten to derail them all.” Filming should last into the spring.

Thor, which we know began rehearsals last month in Manhattan Beach, CA, officially began lensing today with Joshua Dallas, not Stuart Townsend.

Red, starring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Mary-Louise Parker, Julian McMahon, Richard Dreyfuss, Ernest Borgnine, John Malkovich and Brian Cox starts shooting this week in Toronto. Based on a comic book, Red is the story of a retired black-ops agent (Bruce Willis) who must contend with younger, more high-tech assassins who show up to kill him. The movie will also be shot in New Orleans this spring.

Also, Castle cutie Nathan Fillion begins filming Super this week in Shreveport, LA. Filming for the comedy, whose cast includes Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page and Kevin Bacon started about three weeks. Be sure to follow director James Gunn on Twitter for updates!
