It looks two major features will be shot at Garson Studios in Santa Fe New Mexico this spring.
The Coen Brothers’ True Grit, starring Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon, will be shot at the studio in March and April. The Coens’ held an open casting calls across the country for the lead role of Mattie and now they are looking for locals with horse riding skills for paid film roles. Steven Soderberghs Knockout is also set to move into the studio this spring after filming wraps in Dublin. Filming has increased so much in the region in recent years that a new stage, Santa Fe Studio is set to break ground in April.
