Ben Affleck and Matt Damon to trade wives

2009 Ante Up For Africa - Arrivals

After being in the making for quite a few years, it finally looks as if we will once again see Ben Affleck and Matt Damon together on the big screen. The Trade is based on “the story of two New York Yankees pitchers who caused a national scandal by swapping wives back in the sexually-liberal 1970s.

The two Yanks, Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich stunned the nation when they released a statement during spring training in 1973, which stated that they intended to trade wives. Apparently Peterson had fallen in love with Susanne Kekich and his teammate fell in love with Marilyn Peterson.

For a while now, Ben and Matt have had an interest in the project, with Affleck said to be keen to play the role of Peterson and Damon the role of Kekich.

According to sources the script is penned by Dave Mandel, with Affleck looking to add his input on the script. While past rumors put Richard Linklater in the directing chair, it now looks as if Ben Affleck would like to take over this duty.

While not much else has been released about this project, one could imagine with the movie being about two Yankee pitchers that it will most likely be shot in New York, as always we will keep you informed when anything new is reported.
