Filming News Wrap Up: Michael Moore touts Michigan for filming, RDJ in talks for ‘Gravity’, fans shut down ‘The Tourist’ and much more!

Last week, filmmaker Michael Moore, a Michigan native, shared his passion for filmmaking in the state with Jimmy Fallon. At least the producers of The Frontier Boys seem to agree. They are currently filming in Michigan and were thrilled when hundreds of locals turned out to fill the stands of the Charlevoix Middle School gym for a scene.

Another movie set to film in Michigan next month, Salvation Boulevard, has added Jennifer Connelly, Greg Kinnear and Marisa Tomeito to the cast which already includes Pierce Brosnan, Ed Harris and Jim Gaffigan.

Mia Wasikowska, who stars as Alice in Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland, begins shooting Jane Eyre this week in the the U.K. The movie, which is of course based on the classic novel, also stars Judi Dench, Sally Hawkins and Michael Fassbender.

Speaking of Tim Burton, not surprisingly, he’s eying a 3-D stop-motion version of The Addams Family for his next project.

Jamie Foxx is joining Bruce Willis in Kane & Lynch, the videogame adaptation that’s set to begin production in August.

Scrubs’ star Donald Faison is currently filming the CBS television pilot The Odds in Albuquerque and so far, he’s less than impressed with his stay in New Mexico. Last week, he tweeted, “Fights outside my hotel… Murder capital… Everyhing shuts down at 10pm… I really like Albuquerque!” and, “Not really a lot to do in new Mexico. Every thing shuts at 10pm.” Now, some are calling for the star to step up and give something back to the community. He still has plenty of time to make a donation, Faison will be in town through the 31st.

For once, they can’t blame us! A mob of fans shut down production on The Tourist last week. Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie were filming a scene in Venice, Italy but the, “fandemonium was too overwhelming for security” so the shoot was shut down early. Glenn Close, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Orlando Bloom and Amanda Seyfried will be shooting a new film on location in Dublin this summer. The movie, Albert Nobbs will tell the story of a woman who passes herself off as a man for 20 years in 19th century Ireland.

The Girl With The Red Riding Hood, which also stars Amanda Seyfried, is set to shoot in Vancouver this spring.

According to Edward Norton, there won’t be a Hulk sequel anytime soon.

is in talks to film Gravity in London this summer before starting work on the Sherlock Holmes sequel.

The Tribeca Film Festival has rounded out its line up with a film by Edward Burns and a doc about Billy Joel among other projects.

Psych’s Corbin Bernsen is set to start filming a new movie about the All-American Soap Box Derby in Silver Lake, OH next month.
