‘Transformers’ gears up for a third round

While the Transformers series has so far been a mega hit at the box office, the movies have often been criticized by critics, who called the sequel “noisy, underplotted, and overlong special effects extravaganza that lacks a human touch.”

Recently, even the actors involved have criticized the movie, Shia LaBeouf commented “when I saw the second movie, I wasn’t impressed with what we did. There were some really wild stunts in it, but the heart was gone.”

According to LaBeouf, the problem was that they “tried to get bigger. It’s what happens to sequels. It’s like, how do you top the first one? You’ve got to go bigger.” And the problem with going bigger is that sometimes it just becomes too big, and you end up losing a bit of the relationships.

Rumor has it that Alan Tudyk, has been added to the cast of Transformers 3, according to The Wrap, “he’s snagged a currently unspecified role in the film.” Since the news of a new movie has leaked, the movie has “rapidly been building an eclectic cast, with Patrick Dempsey, Frances McDormand and John Malkovich all getting cast in the movie.”

In other Transformers 3 news, sources say that the production has added The Kennedy Space Center in Florida to its wide array of filming locations. The movie is expected to hit Florida in September, however you don’t have to wait that long to get a glimpse of the huge robots, since Transformers 3 is currently filming in Los Angeles, with plans to shoot in several other locations around the world.

LaBeouf is scheduled to be on set for the first time this Tuesday. Check out what he had to say about the shoot below:
