There have been rumors circulating that the last chapter of the Twillight Saga, Breaking Dawn, will be filmed in New Orleans instead of Vancouver, where the last two films were made.
Now, according to Scene Louisiana, Summit Entertainment has set up a Louisiana Limited Liability Company (LLC) named “TSBD Louisiana, L.L.C”. As they point out, it seems the name of the company refers to Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. They also report the address on file in in New Orleans.
“The move is significant because it is the first step in qualifying to earn Louisiana’s film tax credits. By setting up an LLC in Louisiana as early as possible, filmmakers are able to have their earliest expenditures qualify for tax credits by using a Louisiana travel agent to book flights and hotels while they are scouting locations here.”
Though this doesn’t mean Breaking Dawn will definitely be filmed in Louisiana, it does mean Summit is seriously considering the move.
Sorry. This just does not make sense. The pacific northwest cannot be Louisiana. Just NO! Not an option. This is stupid and the fans will not be happy. Louisiana is a unique environment and it cannot take the place of the pacific northwest. They are way, way too different. And this is not an Anne Rice novel. I suggest they take it back to Forks.
i don’t care where they flim as long as they have the movie made… i personally would like to see it made. i absolutely love twilight and i think the choice should be left to the actors of where the easiest place for them to shoot, because you wouldn’t want them getting frostbite now would we. We wouldn’t want them getting stressed out then the movie wouldn’t get made and fans won’t be fans any more. So just leave it at a vote!!!
Agreed though this rather makes me happy since I live in the city. But we are to distinct to use in a movie centered in forks.
If you’ll remember much of the 4th book is at the Isle of Esme and much of the interaction for Jacob and Edward; Jacob, Seth and Leah and then all the wolves and fight scenes are in the wooded forests…..I doubt very seriously that anyone will even know the difference if Louisiana is the location or not. Not to mention the fact that in November (when shooting is start) Louisiana weather is a bit milder than the original Forks…not to take away from the authenticity but the amount of filming necessary for several of the actors to be in only cutoff shorts and maybe barefoot…..well Louisiana has my vote.
I have lived in Louisiana and I have lived in Oregon, and there is no way that you can film Breaking Dawn in Louisiana and make it look anything like the Pacific Northwest. The forests in Louisiana look NOTHING like the forests in the Pacific Northwest. In fact there is NOTHING about Louisiana that looks like the Pacific Northwest.
Yeah, sure ….. there’s no way to make things that are fictional …. look real…..hmmmmm….what? I definitely have a bit more faith in this film crew and cast as well as the special effects and cgi departments to believe they can probably do just about anything they want with this movie including filming in Louisiana and make you think it is Forks. Not to mention the fact, that the story that includes the CHARACTERS will be first and foremost on everyones view….Will they be asking, “Is that a Washington oak or a Louisiana oak?” ….. unless of course you’re viewing the movie for the scenery.
yeah, but i live near NO and there are like 2 forests MAYBE there. Maybe in Mandeville or Baton Rouge…
I love in Louisiana, and as much as I would love them to film here just so I can say, “Hey, My favorite movie was filmed 30 minutes away from my house!”, I don’t think Louisiana would be fit for Breaking Dawn or any Twilight Saga movie. But, It’s all the Crew’s decisions, not the fans.
I would love for them to film the movie in louisiana because I might get to go see the production. Furthermore they always have ways of making things look real. They can always use cgi.
Ummmmm most of the other movies were not filmed in Forks at all. just saying…….pac northwest yes but Forks, NO!!!! who cares anyhow they have pretty much butchered the story i just gotta see it through at this point.
The filming in Louisiana is being done Mostly in the studios not outside. The outside filming will be done in Canada. The honeymoon scenes was done in brazil.
