Detroit Filming News: Dance your way onto the set of ‘Harold & Kumar’, ‘Transformers 3’ is coming to town & scouting for Miley’s next movie

First up, choreographer Courtney Miller Jr. will be at the Detroit Opera House at 1 p.m. on Saturday to select a total of 30 dancers for the film, A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas, which is currently filming in and around Detroit.

They are looking for women between 20 and 25 years old, with strong experience in jazz dance. Women must be between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall. Men should be between ages of 20 and 25 years old, with strong experience in jazz, hip-hop and break dancing. Men must be between 5 feet 5 inches and 6 feet tall.

Transformers 3 has also added Detroit to its list of upcoming filming locations. Filming is expected to place in August and last two to three weeks. Scenes for the first Transformers were also filmed in Detroit, including at the Michigan Central Station.

Finally, Production crews for the Miley Cyrus/ Demi Moore film LOL toured the campus of the University of Detroit-Mercy, a Catholic university this week as well. It’s not yet known if the film will be shot on UDM’s campus but they should know within the next couple of weeks. The movie is about a 15-year-old girl’s coming of age as she is dumped by her boyfriend and begins a new life with her recently divorced mother.
