NYC filming start dates this summer including ‘Gossip Girl’, ‘Curb’, ‘Blue Bloods’ & more

Here we go again, it looks like summer hiatus is officially over!

Below is a list of returning and new projects that will be filming in New York City this summer and when to be on the look out for signs and production trucks, its going to be a busy summer in NYC!

TV Shows:

Delocated (a half-hour live-action mock reality show for Adult Swim): filming now

Curb Your Enthusiasm (new to NYC): June 28

In Treatment: June 28 (approx)

Gossip Girl: July 8 (Don’t forget some of the cast will be filming in Paris this summer too!)

Law and Order: SVU: July 15

The Good Wife: July (exact date TBA)

Blue Bloods (the new Donnie Wahlberg/Tom Selleck series formerly known as Reagan’s Law): July 26

Feature Films:

Arthur (remake starring Russell Brand): July 7

My Idiot Brother (a comedy about an idealist who barges into the lives of his three sisters starring Paul Rudd): July 13

Premium Rush ( an action thriller about a New York City bike messenger starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt): July 19 (approx)

Friends with Benefits (not to be confused with UIRP, this one stars Justin Timberlake & Mila Kunis): July 20

Peace, Love and Misunderstanding (a drama about a widowed, conservative lawyer who takes her children to Woodstock starring Catherine Keener, Jane Fonda, & Chance Crawford): Mid-July (filming in NYC & upstate NY)

    • They will be filming around Lincoln Center on Tuesday. I believe someone said there were signs on the Broadway side, but that could just be for the trailers. They are scheduled to shoot a restaurant scene, so check the restaurants in the Lincoln Ctr. area.

    • I have a couple locations for Tues that I haven’t had a chance to add to the calendar yet, I’ll add in AM probably: anyway, MOnday East Village & Tues 77th and Columbus.

  5. Anyone have any idea how long Gossip Girl will be filming in NYC? I’m visiting for the first time in the 2nd week of August and I’m a huge fan. I’d love to see them filming! Thanks 🙂

  6. I know this is random….. but does anyone know how I can see the celebs that leave the David Letterman show? Either when they are coming in or leaving, what exit do they use? and @ what time?

    • Just go to the theater and you’ll see the crowd. There’s always a big crowd of fans and paps at the entrance to the theater, can’t miss them. They tape 2 shows on mondays, so you might want to get there early, maybe b/w 2 & 3. Someone else on here that’s been there on a Monday might know for sure.

  11. I have a New York City trip planned and I REALLY want to see Law and Order SVU filming!! Is there anything I need to know? Like do they shoot on certain days or are they shooting in studio on certain days or is it better to go when they start filming again like maybe the 17th or wait a little while. I told the people that i am going with that we have to go after july 15th 🙂

That’s perhaps one of the most insidious things about the current misconceptions around Autism.
