        • this person asked a very valid question, and that’s your best answer? Louisiana is nice, but not like Forks at all. It’s a pretty odd filming choice. maybe they’ll just be doing inside shots, or honeymoon shots in Louisiana, and then be heading back to Vancouver for outdoor scenes. Vancouver is much more appropriate for a “Forks” setting..

    • have you ever been to Louisiana? my back yard looks like im living in Forks; despite the temperature. Louisiana is a great place for them to flim

      • i agree! i live in Louisiana also.and i think its a great place to film.
great “forks-like” atmosphere….well besides the temperature.but they’re supposed to be filming here in November,so i don’t think temperature will be an issue 🙂

        • I’m sorry, but I live in Louisiana, and i love it, but it’s not like Forks at all… Forks is a mountainous, rocky pacific coast, tall pine trees type of place. Louisiana isn’t like that at all. the only thing they have in common is they both have moss. and it’s not even the same kind of moss…

  1. I think It’s Absolutely wonderful that the location of Louisiana has been chosen! ! It’s a beautiful state and hits close to home! ! I really don’t think it would matter where the movie was made it’s gonna be amazing! !

  2. They should keep it familiar and stay in vancouver. That’s way closer to forks. Maybe louisiana for the clips of the cullens searching for help or even the island setting but that’s it.

      • Haha thats right! Im from louisiana and Im a die hard twihard and I think la is the PERFECT place to film mant scenes here! Especially from me reading Breaking Dawn, I think this is an awesome filming place.

      • I’m from New Orleans and I think its a great idea. It will help with recovery from Katrina. ohh and Reggie Bush isn’t from here! Heis from California, just plays for the Saints 🙂

  3. its clear that most people don’t know how varied the LA landscape is. Besides the bayous–we have wonderful forests, lakes, flat plains areas, and more. Besides that, LA has relaxed the filming taxes, and everyone loves New Orleans.

  4. There are many different locations in Breaking Dawn. I’m sure the bulk of the movie will still be shot in Vancouver, but there is Isle Esme, the Amazonian forest, Brazil, etc. that are all possible places to be covered in the movies. It would be unwise to change the Forks backdrop, but there is a whole lot more of the world to cover in Breaking Dawn besides the Pacific Northwest.

  5. Ok, lets look at Louisiana for what it offers… Great taxes incentives, wonderful people, and the prefect landscape for most of the required scenes in Breaking Dawn. If you don’t believe Louisiana is just as beautiful as the Pacific Northwest accept our invitation to visit. Thick evergreen forests to the north and lazy rolling bayous to the south, not to mention the historic and always entertaining New Orleans in the middle.

  6. i think it is absolutely AMAZING that they are filming breaking dawn in louisiana! i think they should film it in the BEAUTIFUL city of sulphur, louisiana! its soooo pretty here and its a small town like forks(:

  7. It is cheaper to film in Louisiana due to the tax incentives. They could not get the same tax incentive they got for New Moon and Eclipse in Vancouver. They will be shooting most of the movie if not the whole movie in Louisiana b/c that is a requirement to receive the tax breaks. I believe Louisiana is a wonderful location, it will help the much needed gulf coast area with tourism!

  8. Good thing they’re gonna start filming in November when its cooler instead of summer. The actors would probably go on strike due to Louisiana’s very HOT! summer weather.

  9. As a life-long resident of Louisiana, I am thrilled about Breaking Dawn being shot here!!! Our state has a huge variety of landscapes. And of course the prospect of actually being able to see Rob in person at some point is enough to make me die a happy girl!!!!

  10. Hahah, I love Twilight & I’m from Louisiana! They should definitely shoot in the state’s capital, Baton Rouge. True Blood(Vampire Film) shot there too! AHHH, I’m so flipping excited. Screw you bitches who don’t like Louisiana! ;D

  11. Actullay i from Louisiana and somtimes i really do feel like im leaving in Forks! No joke; it rains all the time and when its not sunny and beautiful it looks like a vampire would come out! haha but i think its still a great choice of them; although im not sure why they wont stay in Vancouver? but hey where ever they flim its still going to be great!!

  12. I am also from Louisiana, specifically New Orleans, and I think its wonderful that they will be filming here in Louisiana. Like many people above have said we have tons of bayous, rivers, lakes, forest and flat plains (and let me tell you they’re so flat that we’re below sea level), and New Orleans is also a city like no other! Plus the weather here is somewhat like Forks, besides our hot and humid weather, its rains ALL THE TIME, and especially around fall! And another plus is that people around here aren’t as bothersome as they are in other states and cities, just ask Brad Pitt!! :)))))))))

  13. i live in plaquemine LA, which im sure nobody will ever think about filmilng at. but Plaquemine is awesome. 15 min. from baton rouge, 1 hour from New Orleans….its prolly the best spot.

  14. Good tax breaks warrant filming indoor scenes in Louisiana then they will head to Vancouver for outdoor scenes so it will be the same as the other films

  15. noo, breaking dawn should NOT be filmed in Louisiana. Theres nothing wrong with the state and i get that its beautiful and all that. I think it would be a good place to film the other parts of the movie that are supposed to be in different places besides forks. Even though louisiana has forests and small towns you cant compare it to washington/oregon/vancover. they look nothing alike! It would be stupid of them to film the whole movie here. I really dont think they car that much about taxes, there paying taylor, rob, and kristein 27 million each for part one.

    • That’s why they will not be filming any of the outdoor scenes in Louisiana, only indoor scenes. If you find the post the producers put online they are interested in the tax breaks. That’s why they can pay the actors so much. I’m like you though seems like it would be cheaper to do it in one place instead of moving around. They started canvassing Lousiana today, July 5.

  16. i like alot of you are from louisiana! and i think it is a perfect place to shoot breaking dawn! it will be nice and pretty chilly while they are filming! it will be great!

  17. I have lived in both places….Washington and Louisiana. They are complete opposites, yet filming in Louisiana for ‘Breaking Dawn’ will be no disappointment for people. Speaking from experience with the film industry, this will make the movie more in depth. Can’t wait to see it!

  18. It would be cool for twilight:breaking dawn to be filmed in louisiana.I have lived here most of my life it isnt so bad.

  19. YES!!!! bring it to Louisiana!!! that means its closer to Texas and MAYBE just MAYBE us southern people get to meet the cast!!!! ahhhhh that would be amazing!!! I LOVE ROBERT PATTINSON!!!

  20. Hey…I don’t remember reading about Tar Balls floating up from the water in the book…maybe Lousiana is not the right spot for filming. Besides…True Blood has that place covered already. Move a bit north and make it believable.

    • screw you, Seriously. TarBalls arent even barely in Louisiana, mostly in Florida and Alabama. Trust me. The oil doesnt even have anything to do with the Movie, honestly.True Blood has New Orleans, i doubt Twilight will be filmed there….. Probably more in Northern Louisiana, wich is still great

  21. Can’t wait for filming in Baton Rouge! I’m hoping we will be able to see or at least meet the cast at some point, although I know it will be very hard. My 11yr old daughter would love to meet Kristen Stewart…she’s shy and I think she’d love to ask her how she got into acting with being shy….I personally would be thrilled to meet any of the cast and the author….will Stephanie Meyers be here also? I hope they have an awesome experience and if you need any extras….I know several peeps that would love to be in the film !

  22. Just think they will probably enjoy shooting in the south, that way they won’t spend all their time freezing their asses off this year.

  23. I have been to Forks for a vacation and have lived in Baton Rouge before we moved to Houston It would be interesting to see what scenes will be filmed in Louisiana. I love both cities. People are very friendly.
    I am excited 🙂

  24. I’m in Louisiana, (Covington which is like…2-3 Towns away from baton Rouge ;D), I find it really great that they’re filming here!! It’s like Forks, Rainy a lot…Except VERY HOT!! And I agree with most of the people commenting. Very nice places to shoot. I’m so excited…But what worries me is Tropical Storm Bonnie…Going to hit Louisiana soon..Lets just hope it doesn’t do too much…I really hope that doesn’t make changes. Still…I’m excited as hell!!

  25. I think it is great they are filming in Louisiana. I reside there and would love to meet some of the cast. we have great food, history and weather, in November. There is nothing like southern hospitality also. I will be excited to hear where they shoot in BR!

  26. Im so excited they are filming in Baton Rouge! i live just fifteen minutes away! And trust me when i say they wont dissapoint! Scenes from the movie jumper were filmed down my road and i live in the middle of nowhere on the river. You would have never guessed the amazon scenes were filmed in Prairieville, LA!

  27. I am hoping to get to Baton Rouge to see some filming but i just wonder how guarded the locations will be …..anybody have an idea????

  28. well most of it will be filimed inside from what i hear that is in baton rouge so they can make it the way they want it inside you know what movie people do to movies dont matter location its what tweaks they do and i am sure they will do a great job

  29. Filming is much cheaper here in Louisiana!!
**The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn has found its home, and for the first time, Twi-Hards can travel down south to catch a glimpse of their favorite vampires. Summit Entertainment announced today what had long been expected: that the final two Twilight films, to be directed by Bill Condon, will shoot in both Baton Rouge, La., and Vancouver. Louisiana’s appealing tax credits have drawn a number of productions to its locales, one bright spot on the state’s struggling economy. As such, Summit will take advantage of such deals, heading first to Louisiana, where the film’s interior locations will be shot. Then once weather has improved in Vancouver, the Breaking Dawn production will move to Canada, sometime in the New Year.

The first installment of Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be released on Nov. 18, 2011.**

  30. Im from Baton Rouge, and i love Twilight. I think that Louisiana is a great place to shoot Twilight. It does look like Forks in the winter time, which is when they will be shooting. As for the mountains, its not like they cant build them as props or something.

  31. There is a traffic jam in Covington today, November 16, 2010, and the cop said that Kristen Stewart is there and they are filming one of the Twilight movies.

  32. I’m Going On A road Trip To South Caroina Jan17th. It just Happens My Famaly And I Ara Going Cross Lousiana. Dose anyone know If Braking Dawn Is Still Filmming There By Januray 17th And 18th?
