The new HBO series, Luck, which stars Dustin Hoffman, will begin filming at the historic Arcadia racetrack in Santa Anita, CA this October. The show’s first two seasons will be largely shot right at the racetrack according to local officials. [Whittier Daily]

A Detroit Councilman wants ABC to change the name of their upcoming series, Detroit 1-8-7. The show, whose name is a reference to a slang term for murder, is currently being filmed in Detroit. [MLive]

Raleigh Studios recently broke ground on their new stages in Michigan. [Positive Detroit]

Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion, starring Matt Damon, Marion Cotillard, Jude Law and Kate Winslet begins shooting in Chicago next month. Portions of the film will also be shot in Los Angeles. [IMDb]

Jason Priestly, who is currently filming a TV movie in Vancouver with BH 90210 co-star Luke Perry, will be in Boston this fall to film Stingy Jack, according to the film’s producers. Casting has started for Kevin’s Smith first horror movie, entitled Red State, but there is still no hint as to where it will be filmed. [NME]
