  1. they were in Bad Axe last Friday to audition for extras. Approx 150-200 people showed up for the casting. They were looking for a mix of people for extras in the movie. Also they were looking for big 4 wheel drive pickups & dogs.

  2. Wow! Bad Axe could be the next small town to hit the big time. I lived there 20 years ago, and it has only changed a little teeny bit. Similar to Groundhog Day’s, Woodstock, IL

  3. Penn starts filming here the week after next. They’re filming at a bunch of places in town, heard Petes Bar for sure and the wind mills near Elkton.

  4. Hey Carolyn,
Yes, you should be able to watch form outside, they will probably have the street blocked off in front of Petes but you may still be able to see the actors come and go.

Not sure of exact date yet, we’ll keep you posted, if we heard anything.

  5. i live on the street there filming on and its right next door to me. roads are closed and everything. they just started putting the trailers and ect up and all that.

  6. The crew really should take a “farm tour”….Im sure most of them have never seen “beet season”….or any other harvest…
I would be more than happy to offer Mr. Penn a ride in my truck!!!!
