Looks like Ben Affleck might be headed to Oklahoma.
We’ve had several reports that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were spotted in the Broken Arrow, OK Bass Pro Shop last week. Rumor has it, Ben told an employee that he was buying fishing gear and doing research for an upcoming film.
The film in question is likely the Untitled Terrence Malick Project which is expected to shoot in Bartlesville, OK this October. Originally, Christian Bale was attached to the project, but he has since been replaced by Affleck.
The movie, about a fisherman, is only being described as a “powerful love story”.
Jill Simpson, the head of Oklahoma’s Film & Music Office, told Tulsa World that the movie’s Oklahoma shoot has not been confirmed. “We have one film shooting in Oklahoma currently,” Simpson said, referring to “Bringing Up Bobby,” a Famke Janssen-directed drama starring Milla Jovovich and Bill Pullman, which wraps production this week. “After that, we won’t have anything filming in the state. Hopefully we will have one start in the fall,” but that is still to be confirmed, said Simpson, who added that she has “never spoken to Ben Affleck. … If I have something to report, I will.”
So, it appears that even though Ben may have been in Oklahoma to check out potential filming locations and practice fishing last week, filming won’t officially begin until this fall.
