JJ Abrams’ ‘Super 8’ will begin filming in West Virginia next month

There are finally more details surrounding J.J. Abram’s next, highly anticipated, movie.

Super 8 will begin filming on Main St, Weirton, West Virginia in late September.

Little more is known about the flick (which is being disguised under several different production names including Wickham and Darlings) except that it revolves around a 14-year-old boy and is set in a steel town in 1979. Crews have been looking for vintage props and old cars for the shoot.

The production is scheduled to last two to three months and most of that filming will likely take place in Weirton.
