Is ‘X-Men: First Class’ heading to Savannah, GA?

According to ComicBookMovies.com, the producers of X-Men: First Class are considering filming a few “extensive action scenes” in Savannah and Tybee Island, GA (the same locations where Miley Cyrus’ The Last Song was filmed last year).

Reportedly, when asked about the rumor, Jay Self, the city of Savannah’s Director of Tourism and Film Services, said: “We are moving forward with all needed preparations so we will be ready if they decide to use these locations.”

As of now, there is no time line for when the movie will be shooting in Georgia or for how long they will be there, that is, assuming the do choose Savannah as a location.

X-Men: First Class began shooting in the U.K.– where the majority of the movie is expected to be filmed- this week and already set photos are beginning to be leaked. Several publications have run photos of Mad Men’s January Jones in costume as the tough, telepathic, Emma Frost. The film also stars Kevin Bacon, Oliver Platt, James McAvoy, and Rose Byrne.

The movie is expected to hit theaters June 3, 2011.
