It was only two months ago that we reported that the new James Bond movie had been canceled, however now it seems as if there might be light at the end of the tunnel for 007 fans.

As you might remember the 007 project was put on indefinite hold due to the financial difficulties of MGM studios, which according to rumors, currently has a 3.7 billion-dollar debt.

It really seemed as if the James Bond series were at a standstill when director Sam Mendes left the production, followed by the current James Bond, Daniel Craig, signing on to play the male lead, Mikael Blomkvist, in the highly anticipated American remake of “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”.

Now however, MGM says that its creditors have agreed to extend their debt repayment schedule, at the same time Sam Mendes has taken himself out of the running to direct “Hunger Games” for Lionsgate Studios. Mendes states that his decision to leave “Hunger Games”, is based on the fact “MGM picture is clearing up and it looks like production on 007 could begin by late summer or early fall”.

We look forward to hopefully seeing production and shooting start sometime either this year or early next year, we will of course keep you up to date on any new developments and where it will be filmed.
