News Wrap-Up: Vanessa Hudgens joins ‘Journey 2’, ‘The Vow’ in Chicago, Megan Fox set to shoot ‘Friends’ in NYC, and much more

Admittedly, I’ve been a slacker the last few weeks about posting the latest filming news so I’m making up for it now with this mega post! The first trailer for the made-in-Sranton movie Blue Valentine has been released. The film stars Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling as a couple reliving their tumultuous relationship.

As we were the first to report, The Vow, starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams will be filming in Chicago next week after spending the past two months in Toronto. Check out our calendar above for details! [Chicago Tribune]

•Barry Watson and Sara Rue begin filming the made-for-TV thriller Always and Forever in Atlanta next week.

Jason London, who is recently best known for his rift with twin brother Jeremy, is currently filming The Lamp in Tulsa, OK. [KJRH]

Fright Night wrapped a couple weeks ago but we recently found this cool set photo of a poster featuring David Tennant as Peter Vincent. The photo was taken while they were shooting at the Hard Rock Casino in Albuquerque. [ONTD, OneHeadLight]

Miley Cyrus will begin filming So Undercover in Nashville, TN and New Orleans, LA next month. [Examiner.com]

Captain America: The First Avenger has moved  to Caerwent, South Wales. [CBM]

The Inferno, starring Lindsay Lohan, will now be shot in L.A. in January, instead of New Orleans due to Lindsay’s ongoing stints in jail and rehab. [The Celebrity Cafe]

The Malibu home where Samantha and Smith shacked up in the first Sex and the City movie is on sale for a cool $13 million. [Luxist]

Law and Order: Criminal Intent begins filming their final season next week in NYC, with Vincent D’Onofrio!

True Blood’s Marshall Allman is filming Blue Like Jazz in Nashville, TN and Portland, OR later this month. [Cross Rhythms]

Megan Fox has joined the cast of Friends With Kids, which stars John Hamm and begins filming in New York City this fall. [Collider]

Adrien Brody, Kurt Russell and Sharon Stone were rumored to be arriving in Detroit next week to start shooting Waco. [Celebri-D]

Black Swan hits yet another film festival, this time its in New Orleans. [NOLA.com]

Rampart, starring Woody Harrelson, Sigourney Weaver, Steve Buscemi, and Robin Wright, begins filming in Los Angeles on October 25. The movie is about a scandal within the L.A.P.D. Rampart Division in the late 1990s. [FFA]

Ray Liotta, Ving Rhames, and Christian Slater started shooting The River Sorrow in Washington last week. The movie centers on a detective, played by Liotta, working on the trail of a serial killer. [Collider]

Angelina Jolie finally had her Bosnian filming permits reinstated. After hearing rumors that her directorial debut centered on a rapist and her victim the country revoked her permits, but she was able to explain that the plot was actually a love story. [Jaunted]

Morgan Freeman has been selected by the American Film Institute’s (AFI) Board of Trustees to receive the 39th AFI Life Achievement Award, which will be presented to Freeman at a gala tribute on Thursday, June 9, 2011 in Los Angeles, CA. [Accidental Sexiness]

The guys behind the Blair Witch Project are currently filming a new movie in Maryland. [Herald-Mail]

Kevin Sorbo is filming Sam Steele and the Crystal Chalice in Louisville, Kentucky and southern Indiana this month. The movie, about an international thief and treasure hunter, will be released on DVD in January. [TrekWorld]

James Cameron is planning to make a 3D documentary about the Xikrin-Kayapó tribe in Brazil and its attempts to stop the construction of the Belo Monte hydroelectric dam, which is to be built near tribal lands on the Xingu River. [NY Times]

This year’s Kennedy Center Honors will be Oprah Winfrey, Paul McCartney and Merle Haggard, dancer and choreographer Bill T. Jones and lyricist Jerry Herman. The ceremony will take place at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. on December 5. [WashingtonPost]

Jane Seymour is currently filming Lake Effects near Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. The lake will act more like a character in the film then a backdrop as the plot revolves around a family which loses their father and then tries to find out why he loved the lake so much. Along with On The Road, the movie The Moth Diaries, starring Scott Speedman, recently wrapped up production in Montreal. The movie, which was adapted from the novel of the same name byauthor Rachel Klein, will hit theaters next year. [The Gazette]

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is scheduled to shoot his next flick, about a disgraced former American Special Forces operative who attempts to clear his name by rescuing a judge’s kidnapped daughter from a Mexican cartel, in New Mexico this December. [Sindication]

Bruce Willis recently wrapped work his latest movie The Cold Light of Day in Moraira, Spain, just in time for a Red press tour. [ThinkSpain]

Jesse Eisenberg admitted he was home-sick for Grand Rapids, MI after spending two months in town to shoot 30 Minutes or Less this summer. “I’m always nervous moving to a new place, and then there’s a period where I’m nervous to leave that place,” he said. “I’m kind of homesick for Grand Rapids.” [MLive]

Sacha Baron Cohen has been tapped to play Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, Kevin James has signed on to be a martial artist, Hayden Panettiere will play Amanda Knox, Any Adams is set to star in The Muppets, and Kate Winslet and Jodi Foster will star in the film adaptation of God Of Carnage, which begins filming in Paris next year. Scream 4 director Wes Craven said they didn’t know Courteney Cox and David Arquette were on the verge of a separation while they were shooting the film in Michigan this summer. “We didn’t have any idea that was going on,” Craven said at Spike TV’s Scream Awards. [EW]

Adam Brody thought it was surreal working on Scream 4. “It was cool and kind of surreal — not just to see Ghostface, but there was one night where Wes [Craven] was directing Ghostface in his mask. He’s like, “Ghostface, you’re over there….” It was just surreal.” [ReelzChannel]

This will probably only really interest my fellow Upstate New Yorkers. Alec Baldwin was spotted filming in Wegmans in Syracuse, NY a couple weeks ago. The actor was reportedly filming a surprise for the store’s employees. [WHAM]

The cameras are rolling on the Marilyn Monroe movie, My Week With Marilyn, with Michelle Williams in the lead role. For those of you, like me, keeping tabs on the cast of Dawson’s Creek, here’s an interesting note (kind of like six degrees of Dawson Creek ) Michelle’s DC co-star, Katie Holmes just wrapped work on a Kennedy’s bio-pic in which she played Jackie Kennedy, who was, of course, married to JFK at the same time it was rumored he was having an affair with Marilyn Monroe. To make it more fun, Katie’s movie was shot in Toronto, as was Michelle’s last film, The Last Waltz. My Week With Marilyn will shoot for 7 weeks in London. [Hollywood.com]

Betty White, who has been filming the TV movie Lost Valentine in Atlanta, and Paul Rudd, who is currently filming Wanderlust in and around Atlanta, have signed on to do a remake of the 1977 movie Oh, God, which is rumored start shooting next year in, where else, Atlanta.

Vanessa Hudgens has signed on to star in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, the Journey To The Center Of  The Earth Sequel. The movie will begin shooting in North Carolina and Hawaii in the next couple of weeks. While in North Carolina, the movie will use the same studio currently being used by One Tree HillScreen Gems in Wilmington. [Disneyology, WWAY]
