To kick off our first “OLV Featured Reader” post, I thought Christina, and her sister Ashley, were the perfect choice. Not only has Christina sent us great celeb photos of Kim Kardashian and Tori Spelling, but she’s also been our “woman on the street” at The Grove, L.A.’s home to Extra and countless celeb book signings.
On October 6, Christina and Ashley went to The Grove to meet Jenny McCarthy who was singing copies of her book, Love, Lust, and Faking It. Christina told me, “We decided to spend the day shopping, eating, and of course being on Extra with Mario Lopez. Mario actually interviewed Jenny McCarthy for Extra. During the taping, Ashley got to ask Jenny a question about love. We also got to talk to Jenny afterward and get our photo with her. She was so happy to hear we bought her new book and that we were there supporting her. No one else in the crowd had her new book and they had no idea she was doing a book signing that night, so we got in good with Jenny. Ashley and I were so happy to meet her. We have been fans since she hosted Singled Out and I have now read all 7 of her books. She was totally hilarious in person and so skinny!! We also met Terri Seymour. She is Simon Cowell’s ex-girlfriend and an entertainment correspondent for Extra. Another fun day with my sister and celebrities!”
On Oct. 19, the sisters were back at The Grove to catch Bill & Giuliana Rancic’s signing for their new book, I Do, Now What?. Here’s Christina’s report:
The book signing was not until the evening and we knew that Mario Lopez would be interviewing them earlier in the day for Extra. We decided to be there in time for the Extra interview hoping to meet Bill & Giuliana. Bill & Giuliana were interviewed for Extra and Ashley and I got to stand in the background. After the interview, we got a chance to talk with Bill & Giuliana, get pictures with them, and see her gorgeous wedding ring! It was so much fun. They were both so nice in person and so adorable. I like seeing celebrities who are really in love. Giuliana was beautiful in person and her teeth were so white! If you know me personally, you know I am big fan of teeth, and I could not stop staring at her pearly whites. They were so bright and perfectly straight. She is also very, very, very skinny, but absolutely beautiful! Since we got to spend time with Bill & Giuliana after Extra, we decided to head home this afternoon and not wait for the book signing. Bill & Giuliana could not believe we came all the way from Fresno! Ashley and I explained that we were BIG fans of Giuliana and that we have watched her on the E! channel since 2006. We love their reality show and wish them nothing but the best!
