Jim Carrey turns New York City into a Winter Wonderland for ‘Mr. Popper’s Penguins’

Even though it was 60 degrees in New York City today, Madison Square Park was a winter wonderland thanks to Mr. Popper’s Penguins. The movie, starring Jim Carrey, shot in the park this morning and had many New York commuters confused as they enjoyed the balmy fall weather, and a fresh snowfall. One of our Twitter followers, @jenknyc, summed it up best when she tweeted, “got on the train in fall weather, walked out into winter.”

Jim Carrey was spotted walking across the park and down the street carrying a brief case for the scene. According to the permits posted along W 25th St, tomorrow you’ll have another chance to see Jim hanging out in (a very snowy) Madison Square Park.

Mr. Popper’s Penguins, which is based on the classic children’s story by Richard Atwater, is expected in theaters next year.

Check out a few pictures from today’s set thanks to Denise, @NewYorkology, Erin P, Adrianna, Jennifer K, and @OyrikNYC! If you spot Jim Carrey filming in NYC, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com or Twitter.com/olv!
