First look at Matt Damon filming ‘Contagion’

After weeks of speculation (and quite a few emails from local ladies) about when and where Matt Damon would finally show up in Chicago to begin shooting his scenes for Contagion, Triblocal published the first photo of Matt on set yesterday.

Matt, who is pictured above with the film’s director Steven Soderbergh, arrived at 525 Woodlawn Ave in Glencoe, IL around 11:30 A.M. where there was already a crowd of locals gathered, hoping to get a glimpse of the A-List actor.

According to Triblocal, the movie, which is set in Edina, MN, needed a snowy residential neighborhood for the scene so crews began spraying lawns and bushes with ice-shavings from a snow truck yesterday morning.

The interior of the house at 525 Woodlawn was also completely changed for the film, from furniture to wall paint. Its owners were put up in a downtown Chicago hotel for three weeks while crews got it ready for filming.

Filming on Woodlawn Ave is expected to last through Thursday.

If you stop by the set, or were one of those lucky enough to get a photo of Matt Damon filming yesterday, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com!
