This weekend, Tower Heist confused quite a few New Yorkers who stumbled upon the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade a week late!
The movie recreated the parade for a large action scene filmed outside of the Trump Hotel and Towers, 61st St and Central Park West, on both Saturday and Sunday.
The shoot included real marching bands, floats, clowns and at least three of the movie’s stars, Ben Stiller, Tea Leoni and Alan Alda. In one of the scenes they shot Saturday a large white truck crashed through a barrier and one of the marching bands!
You can see a video Eli sent to us of the scene below:

FYI – The band in the shoot was the Bergenfield High School Marching Band, dressed as the Macy’s Great American Marching Band, along with some strategically placed stunt people.
Excellent! I hope you, or Mr DeLucia were able to take some pictures too. This was quite an exciting weekend for the kids!

In addition, I believe the music was recorded by the actual Macy’s Great American Marching Band, as I was there during the recording.
