Charlize Theron and The Social Network actor Armie Hammer have joined the cast of Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar Hoover film, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.
According to Entertainment Weekly Hammer, who played the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network, is in talks to play Clyde Tolson, Hoover’s protégé and alleged love interest, as well as the associate director of the FBI under Hoover. The script, written by Dustin Lance Black, who also wrote Milk, chronicles the life and career of the former FBI director, his relationship with his strict mother, and his largely hinted-at affections for Agent Tolson. Filming on the movie, which has changed title to J. Edgar now instead of Hoover, begins in early 2011, with a release set for sometime 2012.
Though the movie’s filming location has not been confirmed, there are rumors it may be shoot in L.A., as well as D.C. As soon as we hear more about exactly when and where the movie will be shot, we’ll let you know!
