Mischa Barton, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Devon Sawa started filming the horror flick “Sibling” at the former Knoxville Middle School in Pittsburgh this week.
Duncan, plays a high school principal, while Barton is the school’s guidance counselor and Sawa is a local police officer.
“It’s sort of a whodunit,” said producer Brian Hartman, a Wilkinsburg, PA native who moved back to Pittsburgh to make films after working in Los Angeles for several years.
“Pittsburgh offers things that make filmmaking easy, including a film-friendly environment and an existing film-crew infrastructure”, Hartman said of shooting in his hometown.
“Silbing” will wrap filming around Christmas after approximately 20 days of shooting, most of which will take place in the middle school.
Next month, a new Fox series, “Locke and Key,” will also start filming in Pittsburgh.
