Josh Duhamel and Katie Holmes were up bright and early this morning to announce the nominations for the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton.
The nominees for Best Television Series, Drama and Comedy, proved that not only is there still plenty of good stuff to watch on TV (no matter what some people say) but that L.A. and New York City are still the top filming locations for quality television series.
In the Best TV Series- Drama category, two of the nominees are shot in and around New York City (Boardwalk Empire and The Good Wife), while two are filmed in L.A. (Mad Men and Dexter), and rounding out the group is the filmed-in-Atlanta series The Walking Dead.
In the Best TV Series- Comedy or Musical category, three shows based in or around New York City (The Big C, 30 Rock, and Nurse Jackie) were nominated, while the other three series in the category are all based in Los Angeles (The Big Bang Theory, Glee, and Modern Family).
This goes to show that while New Mexico, Michigan, Louisiana and Georgia are all vying for a piece of the movie making industry, in the U.S. L.A. and New York are still the preferred locations for television productions.
