– They’re finally giving us lefties the attention we deserve! Eminem is expected to play a left handed, world champion boxer whose life is crushed by a major tragedy forcing him to fight his way back in Sotuhpaw. [SlashFilm]
– Nicolas Cage is set to star in Medallion, an action thriller directed by Simon West about a father who has only a few hours to find his daughter when she is kidnapped and locked in the trunk of a New York medallion taxi cab. [THR]
– Mila Kunis and Adam Scott are in talks to join Ted about a guy (played by Mark Wahlberg) who has a teddy bear that came to life when he was a child and he is still dealing with 25 years later. [SlashFilm]
– Tim McGraw has joined the cast of Safe House, which stars Denzel Washington and the newly single Ryan Reynolds as a a CIA agent trying to get a criminal to a secure location. [The Boot]
– Jesse Eisenberg will star in Free Samples, along wiht Jess Weixler (Teeth) who plays “a law school drop-out who fills in as a server as a friend’s food truck, where she doles out free samples of ice cream. The job tests her patience, and while she figures out what to do with her life, she finds herself being courted by a young man (Eisenberg) whom she barely remembers from the night before.” [SlashFilm]
– Nicholas Braun has won the lead in Kevin Smith’s upcoming hockey flick, Hit Somebody, which begins filming next summer. [HeyUGuys]
– Robert De Niro is reteaming with Martin Scorsese for The Irishman which tells the story of real-life mobster Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, a union official who became a successful hitman for the mob. [MTV]
– Alan Alda has been cast as John Winters, the father of Detective Rex Winters (Skeet Ulrich) on Law & Order: Los Angeles. [HEN]
– Tom Cruise is supposedly in talks to join the movie adaptation of Rock of Ages, a musical set on the Sunset Strip in the ’80s. [E!]
– Michael Douglas will play Liberace in the film Liberace which will be directed Steven Soderbergh next spring. [CriterionCast]
– Warner Bros has closed a deal for an untitled musical comedy that will be developed for Robert Downey Jr. [Deadline]
– Leonardo DiCaprio has signed on to star and produce Legacy of Secrecy, a film adaptation of Lamar Waldron and Thom Hartmann’s book about the John F. Kennedy assassination. [WeekinRewind]
– Newcomer Bella Heathcote will play the female lead in David Chase’ first feature film, Twylight Zones. [CB]

– Halle Berry has joined the cast of Cloud Atlas which is based on a book by the same name, featuring stories spanning centuries and leading into the post apocalyptic future. [JustJared]
– Its been confirmed that Tom Hanks will star in Triple Frontier, set in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil where the Igazu and Parana rivers converge which is a haven for organized crime. [Comingsoon.net]
