50 Cent talks guns and Grand Rapids at tonight’s movie premiere

As planned, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson appeared at the premiere of his new movie, Gun, in Grand Rapids, MI tonight.

Gun is the fourth movie he has shot in Grand Rapids, not including SetUp, which he is filming right now, and at least two more projects slated to begin shooting next year.

“The city, I mean, has a lot of great locations and it’s quiet enough. You know in Detroit I get a lot of 50 Cent fanfare that I don’t look forward to when I’m working on a film because there’s a lot to remember,” said Jackson.

The actor/rapper seems to enjoy Grand Rapids so much, he’s looking to buy a house in town. “I’ve been looking,” the actor/rapper said. “I like G.R. a lot. It’s quiet enough for me to function.”

While introducing Gun at tonight’s premiere, 50 Cent talked about how the success of Smith and Wesson inspired him to write the film and his desire to win an Oscar. Check out more in the video above!
